With the cost of diesel, you could almost forgive us for considering a return to the horse and carriage.

A bag of chaff, a drink of water and a pat on the nose sounds like a fairly reasonable fuel arrangement.

Then we pictured one horse pulling two trailers across the Nullarbor. The horse looked unimpressed, the delivery schedule needed another fortnight, and someone had to explain where we would put the spare hay.

So, for now, we’re sticking with diesel trucks.
